The nipper uses a cutting edge and blunt blade construction. A micro step formed between the blades helps reduce compressive stress during cutting, while the slightly wider blunt blade allows the cutting edge to align naturally, reducing the risk of blade misalignment.

These one-bladed nippers are great for entry-level model kit builders. It won't cut quite as cleanly as a Godhand or even the DSPIAE ST-A, but at this price point it's great in terms of cost vs quality.
It does have a small problem with excess lubrication oil, but I'm not sure if that is unique to this model. It was also nothing a small tissue couldn't fix, and it never spilled onto anything.
